Position: Field Organizer

Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour

Position Type: Hourly, Full-time/Part-time available

Location: Various locations across Michigan
 

About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Mobilize Michigan is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Field Organizers. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grassroots organizing and civic engagement. You will be on the front lines, connecting directly with Michiganders to build a stronger, more engaged electorate.

This position requires no prior experience. We provide comprehensive training for all new team members!

Key Responsibilities:

As a Field Organizer, you will be a vital part of our voter outreach programs. Your duties will encompass a wide range of grassroots activities, including:

• Door-to-Door Canvassing: Engaging in face-to-face conversations with community members to share information, listen to their concerns, and mobilize them to take action.
• Petition Circulation: Collecting signatures to place important issues on the ballot and allow voters to decide the laws that impact their communities.
• Voter Registration: Helping eligible citizens register to vote and ensuring they have the information they need to participate in elections.
• Poll Greeting: Providing a friendly and informative presence at polling locations on Election Day to assist and encourage voters.
• Phone & Text Banking: Reaching out to community members via phone calls and text messages to engage supporters and mobilize voters.
• Event Support: Assisting with the setup, recruitment, and executive of community events, rallies, and meetings.
• Data Entry: Accurately recording data into our systems.
• Other duties as assigned to support the campaign's goals.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience is a plus but none is required to apply.
• A strong passion for civic engagement and the mission of Mobilize Michigan to support progressive organizations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; enjoys talking with people from diverse backgrounds.
• A positive, coachable attitude and a strong desire to learn.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Basic comfort with technology, such as using a smartphone or tablet.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
